Honor Guard
What is an Honor Guard?
“Although Honor Guard units may be mistaken as “drill teams,” Honor
Guardsmen are “Ambassadors for Civil Air Patrol.” It is their duty to
assist in recruiting and retention, to assist in making this a drug-free
universe by supporting the Drug Demand Reduction Program, to assist any
ceremonies, to present the colors when the unit color guard is not
available, and to assist in funerals when requested. To be part of the
Unit Honor Guard, members must have high standards in appearance,
education, conduct; an aptitude for ceremonial duty, professionalism;
and the will to make a difference to the future of America.” - CAPP 52-8
Commitment and Responsibilities as a Member
If you choose to become a member of the Minnesota Wing Honor Guard,
you are making the commitment to set your standard of conduct,
discipline, and attention to detail to the highest level. You are
expected to attend each practice and performance (unless excused by the
Honor Guard Commander). To achieve the Honor Guard standard, you must be
willing to devote several hours each week outside of the weekly
practices to perfecting your drill and rifle movements.

you can about the Honor Guard
- Begin looking through the Civil Air Patrol Unit Honor Guard
Program Pamphlet (CAPP 52-8)
