Websites:

*http://www.au.af.mil/au/awc/awcgate/awc-ldr.htm – This site contains many articles on everything even remotely related to leadership. It has taken me days to just sift through some stuff. All the articles are fantastic too.

http://www.cadetstuff.org – By cadets, for cadets.  It’s a non-official CAP website that gives discussion forums, downloads, and ideas for leadership activities.  In addition, there are some great articles on leadership contained within.

http://www.companycommand.com – Good articles and resources.  It’s an Army site developed for Company Commanders (Equivalent of a CAP Cadet Commander) with articles and resources on commanding a company.

http://www.nwlink.com/~donclark – Very good leadership reading.  It’s almost like a book published online.

http://www.MaximumImpact.com – John C. Maxwell loaded.  This is a site that sells books, tapes, CDs, and other resources from John Maxwell.

http://www.PlatoonLeader.org – Another Army site with good articles and resources.  It is much like the Company Command site, but it deals with the Army platoon, which is closer to a CAP flight.

http://www.apc.maxwell.af.mil/default.asp - Having more to do with aerospace, but still very good website.  You can take a course on aerospace doctrine (For free), and learn quite a bit of history and how to take on the world!

Movies to Watch and Analyze:

30 Seconds Over Tokyo – Great aerospace movie, along with other things to look for. |
A Bridge Too Far – The story of Operation Market-Garden. A fabulous movie, contains many principles including coordination, communication, and logistics.
A Few Good Men – The story of two Marines on trial for murder (There’s a little more to it than that, but it’s a good movie).
Black Hawk Down – A true story of combat military leadership.  Pay attention to the stresses of combat and the motivating factors of why the men fight so hard.
*Braveheart – Paying particular attention at the traits of William Wallace, his morals, and his innate ability to motivate people.
Finding Forrester – Outstanding movie showing great mentorship.
Gladiator  Much like William Wallace, pay attention to the integrity and values of Maximus and his ability to motivate.
Patton – A story about George S. Patton’s World War II Army career.
The Longest Day – The story of D-Day. A great movie and shows the faults in communication, logistics, and other leadership aspects.
The Matrix – A great movie about self-confidence, mentorship, and of course, really cool special effects.
The Patriot – A story of a Revolutionary warrior who faces many dilemmas, but has the courage and bravery to overcome them.
Thirteen Days – A story of the Cuban missile crisis and the decision making process.
Twelve O’Clock High – A story of World War II bomber pilots and the stresses of command.  An excellent movie.  Old, but excellent.
*We Were Soldiers – Outstanding new movie. Watch it for all kinds of traits. Each of the main characters has a different persona to watch for.

* Highly Recommended Reading!
