How to Join CAP

You don't need to be a pilot or a military retiree to join. Our membership is open to all U.S. citizens from age 12 on upward. Our members wear the United States Air Force uniforms with our distinctive CAP insignia, and carry out missions essential to our civil defense and safety. There is room for people from all walks of life with all sorts of interest, from professionals in medical or law fields to those with interest in radio communication, public affairs, education, or what ever you do.

Membership benefits include eligibility for academic and flight scholarships, free training and education, expenses-paid travel abroad, automatic promotion to E-3 upon enlisting in the U.S. Air Force, the opportunity to learn to pilot an aircraft, invaluable leadership skills, resume building, and more. We are a non-profit origination, so there is no physical value that you can get from this, but there is still a lot of value that you can't get anywhere else.

You are probably thinking that to get all this great training in leadership, discipline and more, it must cost a lot. It does not cost as much as you probably think, it only cost $33 a YEAR. That includes the uniform, most of the training, and the satisfaction of serving your country.

We invite you to visit Hutchinson Civil Air Patrol Tuesday nights. Cadets meet from 6:30 to 8:30, and Seniors meet from 7:00 to 8:30 and you can learn more about CAP and becoming a member. Or if you just want more information click here to contact us.
