PLEASE plan this coming Memorial Day to join with the Delano American Legion Post in their ceremony to honor the sacrifices of men and women in uniform. We have been invited to participate alongside veterans of many past wars and conflicts to salute and commemorate so many who have served our nation. This is a HUGE honor and we should show up with as many of our Squadron as possible! We will assemble at the Legion Post at 11 am. There, the Post leadership and various veterans will also assemble and we will fall in. There will be a short ceremony, and then we will fall in behind the veterans for a short march starting from the Post, then across the bridge (over The Mighty Crow River) and to the Delano Central Park. At that place there will be a Rifle Salute followed by a few speeches by veterans and a special guest speaker -- usually an active duty member of the military. Total Marching time, not more than 5 minutes. Total ceremony time, roughly an hour and a half. Monday, May 30th ...
